Poker Rooms

Okay, I know what you’re up to. You’re like that kid who says “goodbye” and then hangs around on the doorstep for a while. Here I’ve been telling you all I know about online poker rooms and what to expect and what to keep in mind and you say “okay, okay, I got it” but you’re still here, aren’t you? So I figure the best thing that I can possibly do is show you exactly what you’re going to see when you head over to one of those rooms. You get a little more comfortable, you start getting more excited, and then I can get back to whatever it is I was doing before you showed up.

(for more Online Poker news and reviews visit Online gambling and especially check out the extensive Poker section)

First of all, let’s take a look at a typical home page, entry screen, lobby or whatever you want to call it. This is what you’ll see when you head over to Cake Poker (which, by the way, is one of the best online poker rooms I can think of, and I’ve seen most of them!). Not too scary, is it? Well, the big cake with the utensils might show up in your dreams, but you’ll be sleeping soundly from all the hours of online poker you’ve been playing. Looks real good, right? Well, this is about what you can expect from any of the best online poker rooms or even online casinos around. Great design and graphics, but clear and straight to the point. No muss, no fuss. And if you look closely, you can see all those good deals and even the word “free” a few times…that can’t be bad, right?

Then what you’ll usually see is a screen like this one from Full Tilt Poker which is just your average everyday sign-up page. Pick your screen name…and trust me, give it a little thought but don’t obsess about it. The last thing you want to do is look like a total rube, but it’s not like you’re naming the future president of the universe. Sometimes you’ll see this page before you download the software, and sometimes before you play your first game online.

Next up is a typical payment page, courtesy of Carbon Poker.  They’re not asking for your first born child or one of your kidneys…in fact, seems to me like their terms are more than reasonable. I see an instant bonus there, and a minimum deposit amount that just about anyone can handle. Plus, depending on the minimum bet in the particular online poker room (not to mention your luck and skill!), that minimum deposit could last you all year long…

Once you’ve got all the details taken care of, you’ll find yourself on a page like this one, from Ultimate Bet. You can call it a lobby, or a waiting room, or a stats page…whatever floats your boat. This is where you’ll spend a lot of time in-between games, or taking care of details. When you’re looking for a new game, or checking your stats, or counting your money, all of that magic happens from this central hub.

This is what you really wanted to see, isn’t it? This is what you’ll be looking at when you’re actually in online poker rooms. To be more specific, this is what you be seeing when you’re in one of the online poker rooms at Poker Stars. Pretty sweet, isn’t it? I know, I know, beauty is only skin deep…but, A: all of these sites are plenty deep, and I mean beauty all the way down, and B: you’re going to be looking at this kind of screen for a long time. Looks actually mean a lot if you can’t stand what you’re looking at, and luckily all of our choice online poker rooms will be more than easy on the eyes.

Do you feel a little better now? Wasn’t scary at all, was it? Hey, if you’re anything like me, it was positively stimulating. I’m planning on heading over to Full Tilt Poker, Cake Poker, Carbon Poker, Poker Stars, or Ultimate Bet (or any of the other highly-recommended online poker sites I got from Online Poker). If I could only decide which one…(and yes, that’s a shameless plug for my review page. Follow me over, and listen to me agonize about how to choose between all the best online poker rooms on the ‘net).
